Georgetown, GINA, February 18, 2013

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Robert Persaud today inspected a piece of technology that could assist greatly in the process of phasing out the use of mercury in mining operations.

The technology is known as a ‘screening plant’, and was procured by Mulgravian Ventures (Guyana) Inc., a Canadian exploration company, whose operations are located in the North West District.

The company’s Chief Operations Officer Vern Matkovich said that this technology, which was purchased to aid their own exploration activities, offers a very efficient way to gold recovering and eliminates the use of mercury.

This particular technology was first developed in New Zealand, but it can be constructed anywhere. The cost varies depending on the size.

The Minister commended the company for the initiative and fully endorsed by his Ministry. He said that, “we want to try as much as possible to introduce mercury free technology.”

The use of mercury is not banned in Guyana, but Government aims to gradually phase out its use.

Minister Persaud said that Government feels strongly and it has been proven elsewhere, that greater efficiency in recovery can be derived from mercury-free operations. Moreover, such operations will have far less environmental implications.

“From the Ministry, the Government and the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission, we have to look for what is cost effective, what is good for the environment, and what makes for good mining and business sense,” the Minister said.

The Ministry has also been looking in the direction of incentives for miners who invest in mercury-free technology. In this regard, discussions were held with the Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association (GGDMA) and with individual miners.

He added that the availability of this technology will take the mining industry beyond certain challenges that exist.

Government recognises the environmental and human health risks of mercury and pollution to the environment and is committed to place continuous focus on technical and financial resources in the gold mining sector in order to address the issues surrounding its use.

In November of 2011 Claudetta Toney the director of the Sarafina Mining Company, invited media, entrepreneurs, and the committee of the gold regulation sector to a demonstration of our mercury free gold recovery system. This demonstration was held in Peking, Saramacca in the district Sipaliwini, Suriname. The equipment used in this demonstration not only is used in the mining of gold but is used to separate diamonds, copper, iron and more and most importantly without the use of chemicals. Claudette said “So let’s do those things let’s make our people healthy. Let’s stop with mercury! Green Gold it is the future. Let’s eliminate the mercury and let’s return to health. Not only here in Suriname but around the world because mercury poisoning affects everyone.”

The patented RP-4 shaker table is the most widely used and successful gravity concentrating table. It is used by small and large mining operations, as well as hobbyists around the world.
Although the RP-4 is renowned for its astounding fine gold recovery, what many do not know is the RP-4 has been designed for separation of any heavy mineral and/or gemstone concentrates, down to 1 micron size.
The RP-4 can process up to 600 lbs. per hour of black sand magnetite or pulverized rock with little or no losses. One of the secrets of the RP-4 is its use of unique reverse polarity rare earth magnets. These magnets are strategically placed in a way that will cause the magnetite to be agitated, breaking it free from the gold, rise up and be washed off into the tailings leaving just the gold traveling to the catch.
The RP-4 is compact and only weighs about 60lbs.
With a small generator and water tank; no location is too remote for its use.
Ask us about custom applications you might need or optional accessories such as stands, feeders etc…
Remember, the RP-4 shaker table is a complete, ready to go machine. All you need is to supply the electrical and water and you’re ready to extract the valuable minerals and gemstones from your soil.
We want to remind you to keep an eye out for more videos that are coming soon. In these we will answer your questions such as:
How does the machine separate magnetite from gold?
How small is 1 micron?
How do you set up the machine?
How do you adjust the table to recover different materials?
Can I set the machine on… the earth, lawn, decks, plywood, asphalt etc… or do I need to mount it to concrete? And maybe the biggest question, how do I know if I have it set up right?
We would love to answer your questions so please send them in.

Spotsylvania, Virginia, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 31, 2011 –

“We’re very honored to have one of our competition teams sponsored by Global Mining Solutions” replies David Shackleton, President of The Race For Gold LLC. Shackleton is planning to execute the first of eight team-based gold discovery and recovery competitions later this summer in Virginia. “Global Mining Solutions is a highly respected industry leader in manufacturing gold processing equipment.”

Global Mining Solutions is a worldwide leader in manufacturing superior gold and diamond recovery equipment. Global Mining Solutions, with primary facilities in Oregon and South America, has installed and operated specially designed gravity mining equipment for over 20 years in North America, South America, Asia, Africa, Australia and Europe.

“Global Mining Solutions is proud to be a Team Sponsor for The Race For Gold. We’ve had mining operations around the world and know the frustration and difficulty involved in gold prospecting”, says Matthew Rainwater, Director of Operations in Oregon. “We know the thrill and excitement of finding and recovering gold.”

“Our competitors will be using only recreational gold prospecting equipment, but we will be utilizing a specially designed Global Mining Solutions shaker table to help separate each Team’s gold from other worthless material”, Shackleton reports. “These small tables can quickly and accurately process buckets of material, and I know the Competition Team Leaders will appreciate the time (and gold) saved by the shaker tables.”
